Being relatively disgusted in general with the commodification of homosexuality, I've made it a point to avoid Katy Perry's Song I Kissed a Girl. The far superior Jill Sobule song by the same name was all the musical lesbian experimentation I needed. It struck me as the musical equivalent of drunken girls making out with each other to get the attention of guys. Teehee, aren't we crazy? Look, we'll grope each other if you'll look at us!
But then, I heard Max Vernon's version.
My God, this is sheer genius.
