White Stripes Keep Their Promises

Jack White vowed to play in every province in Canada and he kept that promise. Their guerrilla style musical attacks--popping up on buses, boats, bridges, and in classrooms--reached their climax on Monday, July 16. They played a single note on George Street in St. John's and then abruptly left.

Don't feel too bad for the crowd of fans, though. Everyone was informed about the stunt beforehand and the audience was more than willing to go along with the silliness.

They also gave a more...traditional concert later that night at a Mile One Stadium in the city, which was the final show in their Canadian tour.

Even without their music, I think the White Stripes would have gone down in history simply for doing "weird" better than anyone else on the planet.
